About Nomad

From the first coffee
to the last glass of wine.

We cook the food we feel like eating ourselves, every day. No stiff etiquette, no dress code and no fuss on the plate.

In the morning we make shakshuka, poached eggs, French toast and pancakes. In the evening we serve a menu of our all-time favourites and changing dishes: aged beef, handmade pasta, fresh vegetables and sauces you want to dive into. After many years as sous-chef at the three-star restaurant Rutz, co-owner and head chef Jorge cooks what he himself feels like eating day to day – with the same standards for produce and craft, just without all the theatre around it.

With it come wines we stand behind, a freshly tapped beer or seriously brilliant cocktails and mocktails from our bar.

Same table, new stories.

Jorge Josse, former sous-chef at three-star Rutz, making hand-rolled pasta at Nomad Berlin

Who cooks

Three-star craft.
Food we all love.

Before Jorge came to Nomad, he spent many years as sous-chef at Rutz – Berlin's only three-star restaurant, under Marco Müller.

After almost a decade in starred kitchens, Jorge took what he learned there about sauces, cooking points and produce and applies it to dishes we all know but have rarely eaten this good: Chopped Beef Steak with pepper sauce and hand-cut fries, homemade pasta, or grilled vegetables that don't taste like a vegan stopgap.

And why Nomad? It simply means we cook what we feel like, no matter which region an idea or technique comes from. If a trick from South America makes the cabbage better or a spice makes the broth deeper, it ends up on the plate.

How much is dinner at Nomad?
Small plates €6 to €12, large plates €18 to €24. You can leave happy and full for under €30 per person.

We guarantee the table for 90 minutes at brunch and 120 minutes in the evening. If you'd like to stay longer, we'll do our best to make it work.
What kind of food does Nomad serve?
The menu brings together German classics like a Chopped Beef Steak from aged heifer and braised dishes with handmade Italian pasta such as cavatelli and plates to share.

Yes. Children very much so during the day; evenings are quieter. Dogs are always welcome.
